Will There Be a Fallout Season 2 Release Date & Is It Coming Out?

Created by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan from the namesake role-playing video game franchise, Fallout is a sci-fi Western action drama series. Set in a world ravaged by a nuclear war, the show follows Lucy MacLean as she navigates the harsh landscape of a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. It premiered on Amazon Prime Video on April 10, 2024. Interested in knowing whether there will be a second season of Fallout? This is what we have learned on the subject.

Here’s all the Fallout Season 2 release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.

Is there a Fallout Season 2 release date?

Fallout Season 2 does not have an official release date, but it will likely be announced in the future.

As of April 2024, Amazon Prime Video hasn’t greenlit the sophomore season of Fallout. This is not unusual as season 1 just premiered. The streaming platform will likely assess how the audience responds to it before deciding on the future of the series.

The California Film Commission has offered $25 million in tax credits to the series producers to develop season 2 in the Golden State instead of New York, where the filming for a considerable portion of the inaugural season took place. While this undoubtedly increases the possibility of a renewal, it doesn’t ensure it. According to Variety, filming for season 2 will start in Toronto, Canada, in September 2024.

The cast includes Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as Maximus, and Walton Goggins as The Ghoul / Cooper Howard. Some of the other members of the cast are Kyle MacLachlan as Overseer Hank and Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean.

Where is Fallout Season 2 coming out?

Fallout Season 2 could come out on Amazon Prime Video.

This is because the first season of Fallout debuted on the same platform. ComingSoon will provide an update if and when Amazon Prime Video officially announces the second season.

The official synopsis for the series reads:

“The story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”
