Lee Jae Wook’s agency confirms break-up news with Karina

After a month of publicly dating, Lee Jae Wook and Aespa’s Karina have announced their breakup. A Korean media report revealed that “the emotional pain caused by various malicious comments” could have been one of the reasons for the celebrity couple’s breakup.

Later, Lee Jae Wook’s agency explained why they broke up, saying, “Lee Jae Wook decided on the breakup to focus on the project he is currently filming. The two decided to remain as colleagues who support each other.”

Talking about their fams’ unwavering support for the duo, the agency added: “They will each greet fans through good activities from their respective positions as we advance. Please show lots of warm interest and support.” SM Entertainment also responded to the breakup news: “It is true they broke up.”

Meanwhile, Aespa’s Karina had earlier released a handwritten apology letter to fans after her dating news became public. The 24-year-old shared the handwritten letter via her Instagram, apologizing for hurting fans’ sentiments.

The “Menagerie” crooner wrote to fans: “I know very well how disappointed the MYs (Aespa fans) who have supported me up until now must be, and I also know that they are feeling upset while thinking back on the things we’ve said to one another. I feel even more sorry because I, too, understand those feelings all too well.”

In other news, Aespa is preparing for their new OST, “Die Trying,” featuring TOKiMONSTA. The song will be used in Netflix’s Rebel Moon: Part 2 — The Scargiver and drop on April 5 before the show’s premiere. According to reports, the track is ‘inspired by’ Doona Bae’s character in Nemesis.
