Only Boo! Episode 1 Recap & Spoilers: Keen Suvijak’s Mother Sends Him To Small Town To Punish Him

The new Thai BL series Only Boo! released its premiere episode 1 on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at 8:30 p.m. ICT. on channel GMM 25. It follows the story of an aspiring idol, Moo (Keen Suvijak Piyanopharoj), who gets sent away to a small town by his mother to focus on school. Moo comes across Kang (Sea Dechchart Tasilp), a rice and curry seller, and is soon smitten by him. From debuting as an idol to hitting on Kaeng, Moo has his mind set on his two dreams. Here’s what happened in Only Boo! episode 1.

Episode 1 begins with Moo rushing to an audition venue along with Kang. The viewers then are taken back a few months prior when Moo still lived in Bangkok. During an exam, he makes random guesses and quickly fills in the answer sheet to rush to an idol audition. Ever since he was young, Moo loved to dance, and his only dream has been to become an idol.

Moo’s anticipation for the audition result is met with disappointment when he doesn’t clear the round. Furthermore, he finds his mother waiting for him at home. She scolds him for skipping school and winging his exam for another audition. As his grades have been dropping, she decides to send him away to a small town to keep him away from distractions.

Moo asks his mom why she doesn’t want him to dance. Since she’s in the industry, she says it’s not a pleasant place even though it looks glamorous and beautiful from the outside. She further explains that it requires a lot of sacrifices. Moreover, she tells him that he can’t be an idol forever. Moo’s mother then tells him to focus on his school and pass the university admission exam.

Only Boo! episode 1 recap: Kang comes to Moo’s rescue

After moving to his new dorm in Nakhon Pathom, Moo comes across Kang at the rice and curry restaurant. Since the closest convenience store is a 20-minute walk, he goes to the restaurant looking for a toothbrush. Moo then asks Kang about the nearby bicycle shop. Knowing that he would get lost on his way there, Kang comes to Moo’s rescue. When Moo tries riding a bike, he misbalances and ends up sharing a peck with Kang.

Kang then apologizes and returns to the restaurant, where he finds his friend and Moo’s landlord, Peth, waiting for him. Peth tells Kang that the high schooler may have been sent here to get disciplined. When Moo doesn’t return, Kang gets concerned and looks for him. He finds out Moo has fallen off his bike and hurt his hand. Kang then gives Moo a ride back to his dorm and treats his wound.

Then in the first episode of Only Boo! Kang cooks fried rice for starving Moo. When he tries to pay for the food, Moo finds out he doesn’t have enough money left as he has already spent it on the bike. Moreover, his mother refuses to send him more allowance. Nonetheless, Kang tells him he can pay him back later. Moo then dances for him as his way of “paying back.” Later, Kang revisits his old drawing book after giving up his art school dream.

Trouble finds Moo again on his first day of new school. After parking his bike, Moo is confronted by two students who ask him to remove his bike, saying it is their parking spot. However, Moo refuses to do so. Just in time, the school’s director comes to Moo’s rescue. He then confronts him about his poor grades. He says Moo’s mother has asked him to help Moo with his studies for a semester. The director tells him that Moo can adjust to his new life if he tries to find happiness in change.

After leaving the office, Moo’s face lights up when he finds Kang selling rice and curry at his school.
