New WWE Matches This Week (April 1-5, 2024)

The WWE universe eagerly anticipates the upcoming matches on RAW and SmackDown as the road to WrestleMania 40 comes to an end this week. With excitement reaching its peak, both brands are set to deliver electrifying showdowns.

WWE RAW showdown: The Rock and Roman Reigns appear, DIY & New Day vs. The Judgment Day

WWE RAW is set to air live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It is the final episode of WWE RAW before WrestleMania 40, and the stage is set for the final hype.

The Rock and Roman Reigns will make their appearance on the red brand to set the final hype for their match. Following The Rock’s assault on Cody Rhodes last week, this appearance carries huge anticipation. On the other hand, Roman Reigns is making his first appearance on the red brand after almost a year. It is quite possible their opponents of WrestleMania 40 Night 1, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, could confront them.

Last week on RAW, The Judgment Day attacked The New Day & DIY during their match. This led to Adam Pearce making an eight-man tag team match. Thus, The Judgment Day will face Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods of The New Day & Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa of DIY.

CM Punk returned to WWE RAW last week in his hometown, Chicago, Illinois, and had an intense segment with Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre. Punk is also advertised for this week’s show in Brooklyn, New York. It will be intriguing to see what drama unfolds with him, especially as he is scheduled for commentary during McIntyre and Rollins’ match at WrestleMania 40.

Sami Zayn is gearing up for a significant rematch against Bronson Reed, who secured a victory over Zayn after Zayn’s WrestleMania 40 opponent, Gunther, caused a distraction. This distraction ultimately led to Reed’s win over Zayn just before WrestleMania 40.

In the women’s division, Ivy Nile and Maxxine Dupri are set to face Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae in a tag team match. Fans can anticipate a segment featuring Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley as they had a brawl last week.

WWE SmackDown showdown: Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, The KO Show, Jey Uso vs. Solo Sikoa

WWE Friday Night SmackDown is set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA, just two days ahead of WrestleMania 40.

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal will take place on the final SmackDown instead of being on the WrestleMania card. The advertised participants are Cedric Alexander, Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Kit Wilson, Elton Prince, Cameron Grimes, Veer, Sanga, Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, Ivar, Akira Tozawa, Otis, JD McDonagh, Apollo Crews, Andrade, Ricochet, Chad Gable, Bronson Reed, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Omos.

At WrestleMania 40, the Uso brothers will collide as Jey Uso faces off against Jimmy Uso. Ahead of Mania, Jey Uso will face off against another of his brothers and Bloodline member, Solo Sikoa, this Friday.

Kevin Owens and Randy Orton will challenge Logan Paul for the United States Championship at WrestleMania. With tensions high, Orton will be a guest on The KO Show to address their differences.

A few weeks ago, on SmackDown, Dominick Mysterio aided Escobar in a match against his father, Rey Mysterio. Following this, Rey recruited Dragon Lee to join the LWO. This duo issued a challenge to the duo of Dominick Mysterio and Escobar for a match at WrestleMania 40.

Jade Cargill’s highly anticipated debut on SmackDown made a significant impact. Cargill intervened to assist Bianca Belair and Naomi when Belair was attacked by the Damage CTRL faction. Although Naomi came to Belair’s aid, they were outnumbered until Cargill arrived and made a decisive save. As a result, fans can look forward to a tag team match at WrestleMania 40. This match will possibly feature Cargill, Naomi, and Belair against Damage CTRL.

With WrestleMania 40 just five 5 away, fans can expect some explosive action this week on RAW and SmackDown.
