Toxic: Kareena Kapoor Khan to Play Yash’s Sister, Claim Reports

Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to debut in the South Indian film industry. The actress recently confirmed the same but did not reveal which film will mark her debut. However, several reports have claimed that the actress will star in Yash‘s upcoming movie Toxic. Although her casting has not been confirmed, a new report has revealed some details about her role.

Toxic is a special film for Yash’s fans. Since the release of KGF: Chapter 2, the actor has not appeared on the big screens. This forthcoming film will present him in a new avatar, as shown in the teaser. Geetu Mohandas is directing the project, and KVN Productions is financing it.

What role will Kareena Kapoor Khan play in Yash’s Toxic?

As rumors of Kareena Kapoor Khan joining the cast began making rounds, fans anticipated a new on-screen couple. However, a source told Times Now that the actress will play Yash’s sister in Toxic. The source said, “It is basically a brother-sister story with Yash and Kareena playing inseparable siblings. The director was keen to have Kareena on board in Toxic from the inception of the project. Negotiations were on.”

The source further stated, “Everyone presumed Kareena was being brought into the project as Yash’s leading lady when in fact Kareena was offered a far more powerful role. She has never been seen like this before.” Names like Sai Pallavi and Shruti Haasan have come up to play opposite the male lead in Toxic. However, no official announcements have been made regarding the film’s cast.

In a previous interview, Kareena Kapoor Khan talked about her next venture. She said, “Now, like I said, I might be doing a very big South film. Now it’s like, all pan-India, so I don’t know where I’ll be shooting, but I’m excited for all my fans to know that it’s going to be the first time that I will be doing this.”

Toxic will hit the theaters on April 10, 2025.
