Moon Sang-Min K-Drama List: Wedding Impossible, Duty After School & More

Moon Sang-Min, a 23-year-old South Korean actor, is currently starring in Wedding Impossible opposite Jeon Jong-Seo and Kim Do-Wan. He initially started his career as a model. At the young age of 18, Sang-Min walked his first runway. The following year, he made his acting debut in the K-drama titled 4 Reasons Why I Hate Christmas. The actor has won several accolades for his performance in the popular series Under the Queen’s Umbrella (2022).

He plays the lead role in tvN’s ongoing drama, Wedding Impossible. Let’s take a look at some of Moon Sang-Min’s K-dramas:

Wedding Impossible

Wedding Impossible is the latest Moon Sang-Min drama, airing on tvN and Viki. He plays the role of Lee Ji-Han, the young brother of Lee Do-Han (Kim Do-Wan). Do-Han is the successor of a chaebol family who pressured him to get married. Because of a big secret, he cannot get married and, hence, seeks the help of his friend Na A-Jeong (Jeon Jong-Seo). They had known each other for 15 years, but she didn’t know he was rich.

A-Jeong is an actress who plays extra roles. Do-Han offers her a whopping amount to play his wife. While the two friends think everything will go as planned, Ji-Han disrupts their bubble. He is determined to sabotage this union. Along the way, he finds himself attracted to A-Jeong.

Duty After School

Duty After School is a 2023 South Korean drama revolving around the apocalypse theme. It tells the story of Sungjin High School students and their survival skills during an alien invasion. The attack of insect-like creatures brings chaos to the city; therefore, the South Korean President announces to train third-year high schoolers to join the armed forces.

The third-year students at Sungjin High School have their university entrance exams in 50 days. Amidst that, they have to undergo military training at their school. Platoon leader Lee Choon-Ho (Shin Hyun-Soo) trains students to shoot rifles while teacher Park Eun-Young (Im Se-Mi) is concerned about their safety. Moon Sang-Min plays the leading role of the student named Wang Tae Man. The series also released season 2 in 2023.

Under the Queen’s Umbrella

Under the Queen’s Umbrella is a 2022 historical K-drama about a not-so-elegant queen and her troublemaking sons. Queen Im Hwa-Ryeong (Kim Hye-Soo) has five sons — Bae In-Hyuk as Crown Prince, Moon Sang-Min as Grand Prince Seongnam, Yoon Sang-Hyeon as Grand Prince Muan, Yoo Seon-Ho as Grand Prince Gyeseong, and Park Ha-Joon as Grand Prince Ilyoung.

Im Hwa-Ryeong is not a typical queen with elegance and dignity but is a strong, stubborn, and sensitive woman. The official synopsis on Netflix reads, “A spirited queen tries to rein in her rowdy sons to make one of them the next king of Joseon while her competitors vie to snatch the throne.” Sang-Min has received several awards for this series, including the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2023. 

My Name

My Name is a 2021 Netflix revenge thriller K-drama starring Sang-Min in a supporting role. He plays a young detective named Ko Gun-Pyung. The series revolves around Yoon Ji-Won (Han So-Hee) and her story to avenge her father’s death. With the help of drug ring master Choi Moo-Jin (Park Hee-Soon), she enters the police force as an undercover. She is partnered with Drug Investigation Unit detective Jeon Pil-Do (Ahn Bo-Hyun), whose No.1 rival is Moo-Jin.

Aside from the K-dramas mentioned above, Moon Sang-Min has also appeared in The Mermaid Prince, The Colors of Our Time, and 4 Reasons Why I Hate Christmas. Meanwhile, he garners immense appreciation for his role in the ongoing drama Wedding Impossible.
