It’s Okay to Not Be Okay Ending Explained: Was it a happy ending for the trio, Kim Soo-Hyun, Seo Yea-Ji, and Oh Jung-Se?

The K-drama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay focused on the endearing dynamics and relationship between the lead trio of the story. The trio included Moon Sang-Tae (Oh Jung-Se), Moon Kang-Tae (Kim Soo-Hyun), and Ko Moon-Young (Seo Yea-Ji). Throughout the series, viewers witness how the three characters heal each other’s emotional wounds caused by their traumatic past. It indeed depicts a beautiful story of friendship and love.

Their quest unfolds when an evil witch steals their faces.

The final episode then shows Director Oh gifting a camper van to Moon Sang-Tae. Kang-Tae wants to immediately go on a trip with Sang-Tae and Moon-Young in the camper van. But the two of them show no interest in the trip. Thus, Kang-Tae feels like an outcast among the trio and is quite upset. However, later on, he finds out that Sang-Tae and Moon-Young are planning to surprise him by getting ready for the trip. Soon, the trio heads out for their long-awaited journey in the camper van.

During their trip, Moon-Young heartfeltly confesses her feelings for Kang-Tae. They decide to be together forever. Thus, the two end up together at the very end. Then, Sang-Tae expresses to Kang-Tae and Moon-Young his desire to continue working as an illustrator on his own.

This time, he would be working with another writer. When Kang-Tae asks him whether he would be okay without him, Sang-Tae replies he belongs to himself. In an emotionally heavy moment, the brothers embrace each other before Sang-Tae bids goodbye to Kang-Tae and Moon-Young. Thus, at the end of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Moon-Young and Kang-Tae go in one direction, while Sang-Tae goes in another direction. It is a happy ending for all of them as they are finally happy and at peace.

At the very end of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, viewers see how Finding the Real Face ended. It showed the trio fighting off the evil witch and reclaiming their true faces.
