Venom 3: Why Is the Movie Named ‘The Last Dance’?

Tom Hardy’s Venom 3‘s official title is Venom: The Last Dance and fans are wondering why. Here is why the movie is named The Last Dance.

Why is Venom 3 called “The Last Dance”?

Venom 3 is called “The Last Dance” as it could very likely be Tom Hardy’s final outing as Eddie Brock and Venom.

As the new title of Venom 3 suggests, “The Last Dance” could be teasing that this is the final solo outing for Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and his symbiote companion. Moreover, according to CinemaBlend, Sony may have decided to wrap things up for Brock and Venom.

CinemaBlend has also suggested that Venom 3’s new title may not refer to the upcoming threequel being the final installment in Sony’s Venom franchise. Instead, it could mean the last time audiences and fans get to see Eddie Brock and Venom paired together. Eddie Brock is not the only human host of Venom. The symbiote has taken on multiple hosts in the comics, including Flash Thompson and Mac Gargan.

Furthermore, Tom Hardy did tease the title in an Instagram post from November 24, 2023. There, he seemed to imply that the upcoming film could be his final outing as Eddie Brock and Venom.

Nothing is known about the Venom film’s plot as of writing. What is known is that Tom Hardy will reprise his role of Eddie Brock/Venom. He will be joined by an entirely new cast of actors. The cast includes Ted Lasso’s Juno Temple, Doctor Strange’s Chiwetel Ejiofor, and The Changeling’s Clark Backo. Kelly Marcel, who co-wrote the first Venom film and wrote Venom: Let There Be Carnage, will direct the film and produce it alongside Hardy who she co-wrote the story with.
