K-Pop Group TXT Albums, Ranked

K-pop group TXT has reached new heights in their career every year since their debut in 2019. The group’s international dominance was evidenced when they charted number one on the Billboard 200.

Tomorrow X Together’s (TXT) success was a slow burn. From their debut extended play, The Dream Chapter: Magic, to their latest studio album, The Name Chapter: Freefall, the K-pop act advanced sonically and in their album sales. TXT’s recent releases display a more mature side of the group.

Let’s explore TXT’s top albums and mini-albums that established the group’s reign in K-pop.

Minisode 1: Blue Hour

Minisode 1: Blue Hour was TXT’s third mini-album. It was released during the COVID-19 pandemic on October 26, 2020. With a five-track playlist, the album focuses on how a young boy’s point of view changes the world when he tries to trace back his relationship with a friend. The majority of the tracks on the EP are up-tempo and detail the story of a lost time. The album’s theme struck a chord with the fans during the difficult period.

Minidose 1: Blue Hour sold over 303,190 copies in South Korea in the first week of its release. It also peaked at number one on the Gaon Chart (Circle Album Chart). The mini-album also sold over 19,000 units in the United States, charting at number 25 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The EP became TXT’s highest-charting mini-album at that time, marking the rise of the group’s influence in the U.S.

Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child

Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child was a darker version of its predecessor. It showed the group’s evolving sound. The mini-album encompasses emotions of heartbreak – the highs and lows, denial, and the gradual acceptance.

Released on May 9, 2022, the five-track album was critically acclaimed. Billboard also highlighted TXT’s ability to experiment with different ‘stylistic grounds’ in 15 minutes. The titular EP received 1.44 million pre-orders and sold over 910,000 copies on the first day of its official release. Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child charted number one on South Korea’s Circle Album Chart and the US World Chart. It ranked number four on the Billboard 200.

The Chaos Chapter: Freeze

TXT’s second studio album, The Chaos Chapter: Freeze, was released on May 31, 2021. It proved the group’s caliber in full-length releases. The Chaos Chapter: Freeze sold over 630,000 copies in its first week. The K-pop group made a personal record for topping the Gaon Chart four consecutive times.

The Chaos Chapter: Freeze was critically acclaimed and beloved by fans across the globe. It gained a whopping 89 on 100 on Metacritic. The album was number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling over 154,000 copies in the U.S. and topping the US World chart.

The Name Chapter: Freefall

TXT’s The Name Chapter: Freefall is their latest release. The album dropped on October 13, 2023, and crossed over 2 million sales in South Korea. Five years after their debut, the K-pop act’s sales record shows an active increase in listeners.

The Name Chapter: Freefall topped the South Korean Circle Album Chart, Japanese Oricon Albums Chart, and Billboard Japan Hot Albums Chart. It also reached number 5 on the Billboard 200. After several pop releases, TXT experimented with rock in The Name Chapter: Freefall. The album won the Artist of the Year—Album trophy at Circle Chart Album Awards 2024 and Album Bonsang at Golden Disc Awards.

The Name Chapter: Temptation

TXT’s 2023 EP The Name Chapter: Temptation created a new chapter for the group. The K-pop quintet topped the Billboard 200 chart, with the album boasting over 442,000 sales in the U.S. within the first week of its release. After the success of BTS, Blackpink, Stray Kids, and SuperM, TXT joined the prestigious Billboard 200 topper club, showing their global impact.

The album contained five tracks and snagged 2023 MAMA and Melon Music Awards nominations. Its musical variety impressed critics, and Paste magazine praised its dream-like quality.

After releasing multiple chart-topping albums, TXT is preparing for its 2024 comeback. The new mini-album of K-pop icons, Minisode 3: Tomorrow, will drop on April 1 at 6 p.m. KST/ 5 a.m. ET/ 4 a.m. CT/ 2 a.m. PT. After the release, TXT will embark on their World Tour 2024, starting in Seoul, South Korea, with three concerts from May 3-5.
