How I Attended An All-Guy’s Mixer Anime plot, cast, and more

The cast for How I Attended An All-Guy’s Mixer anime has been revealed recently. The show boasts a talented roster of voice actors.

Mikako Komatsu plays Suo, a woman who works at a crossdressing bar. Komatsu previously played Suo in the manga’s promotional video. Aoi Yūki plays Fuji, Suo’s cool, lethargic co-worker. Nao Tōyama plays Kohaku, Suo’s blonde co-worker who plays an arrogant character type at work. Shunsuke Takeuch plays Tokiwa, a college student who is invited to his first blind mixer by his classmate Suo. Shun Horie plays Tokiwa’s childlike friend Asagi, who is invited to the mixer. Gakuto Kajiwara plays Tokiwa’s friend Hagi who goes to mixers with him to get friendly with girls.

Kazuomi Koga is directing the show. He has previously worked on projects like The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases, Mahjong Soul Kan!! and Pokémon XY. Deko Akao is managing the scripts. He has previously contributed to renowned projects like Komi Can’t Communicate, Arakawa Under the Bridge, and The Case Study of Vanitas. TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND is composing the series music. Ashi Productions will be animating the series.

This gender-norm-breaking story could be interpreted as a bit unconventional compared to similar animes. But as cross-dressing cafés are quite common in Japan, the premise for the plot isn’t unusual.

The women in How I Attended an All-Guys Mixer dress up like men and act more masculine because of their jobs. The anime will focus on a normal heterosexual romance story but with a different twist. Even though the romance genre is quite saturated, this new show will be a fresh breath of air for fans who love romantic comedies.
