K-Pop Group ASTRO’s new single ‘Circles’ Release Date Revealed

K-pop boy band ASTRO will release a new single titled “Circles” to celebrate the group’s eighth anniversary. The upcoming song will be released today, i.e., February 23, 2023.

ASTRO debuted on April 23, 2016, with the extended play Spring Up. The group initially comprised of six members—MJ, Jinjin, Cha Eun-Woo, Yoon San-Ha, Rocky, and Moonbin. Rocky left the K-pop act on February 28, 2023, while Moonbin passed away on April 19, 2023. As it is, this year’s anniversary of ASTRO is more emotional to fans as they reminisce about Moonbin’s impact on the group.

ASTRO to drop new single ‘Circles’ to celebrate 8th debut anniversary

ASTRO’s new single, “Circles,” will be released on February 23 at 6 p.m. KST/ 4 a.m. ET. The K-pop act announced the news of their digital single with a purple poster, ASTRO’s official color.

The group also celebrated their anniversary on a live stream with fans. AROHAs (ASTRO’s fandom name) were touched to see the cake with colorful candles representing all the members: Red for Moonbin, orange for MJ, yellow for Sanha, green for Jinjin, blue for Eunwoo, and indigo for Rocky.

ASTRO’s agency, Fantagio, discussed the significance of the new single “Circles,” noting, “‘Circle’ is a new song that is like a gift from ASTRO to fans on the 8th anniversary of their debut. The members plan to express their deep gratitude to the fans who have been with them for eight years and hope their precious memories will remain like an afterimage for a long time.”

Notably, the group leader, Jinjin, participated in writing and composing the new single, which perfectly captures ASTRO’s sentiment for their fans.

ASTRO released their last extended play, Drive to the Starry Road, on May 16, 2022. The album ranked number one on South Korea’s Gaon Album chart with over 142,379 copies of album sales. Moreover, the album will always be special to fans as it was the group’s last album to feature Rocky’s departure and Moonbin’s passing.
