Sting Wins Championship on AEW Dynamite

In a shocking turn of events on the latest edition of AEW Dynamite, fans witnessed Sting winning his first title in the promotion. The highly anticipated matchup featured Ricky Starks and Big Bill defending their AEW Tag Team Championship against the duo of Sting and Darby Allin.

The match unfolded in electrifying fashion, highlighted by The Icon leaping over his opponents. Despite a valiant effort from the defending champions, Sting and Allin emerged victorious, clinching the AEW Tag Team Championship with a decisive pinfall. However, the celebration of Sting and Darby Allin was cut short.

Following the match, The Young Bucks launched an attack on Sting, targeting his knee from behind with a baseball bat. Shockingly, they extended their brutality to Sting’s real-life sons, who were also celebrating his win, and Allin, leaving a trail of carnage in their wake.

The vicious attack culminated in the execution of their ‘new’ finishing move, the EVP Trigger, with blood staining their suits. It will be interesting to see what unfolds next week on AEW Dynamite, as The Icon is set to hang up his boots soon.

Sting is set to retire at AEW Revolution

The Icon has had a legendary career spanning over four decades. In 2020, he signed with AEW and has had several high-profile matches ever since. Sting has helped create numerous memorable moments in AEW with his tag team partner, Darby Allin.

During the October 18 edition of Dynamite, The Icon announced his retirement plans. He revealed that his final match with the AEW will be at Revolution 2024. The event is scheduled for March 3, 2024, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is the same PPV where he had his first match in 2021.

A few weeks ago, on AEW Dynamite, the returning Young Bucks confronted Sting and Darby Allin. They made it clear that Sting’s final opponent at Revolution would be them. The Young Bucks will challenge Sting and Allin for the tag team championship at Revolution. The Icon will also have his WCW rival Ric Flair joining him on his retirement journey.
