Manhunt Trailer Unravels 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer

The trailer for Manhunt previews the upcoming Apple TV+ series, which focuses on the chase that lasted twelve days for Lincoln’s killer.

Manhunt is based on the New York Times bestselling and Edgar Award-winning nonfiction book by author James L. Swanson, presented as a conspiracy thriller about one of “the best-known but least understood crimes in history,” according to the official synopsis. The series promises to unravel the story of the hunt for John Wilkes Booth after he’d assassinated Abraham Lincoln.

When does Manhunt debut, and who is in it?

The upcoming seven-part, true crime limited series makes its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Friday, March 15, 2024. From there, new episodes will debut Friday until the finale on April 19, 2024.

Manhunt stars Tobias Menzies are Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air, Tetris), Lovie Simone (Greenleaf), Will Harrison (Daisy Jones & The Six), Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), Damian O’Hare (Hatfields & McCoys), Glenn Morshower (The Resident), Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio), Matt Walsh (Veep), and Hamish Linklater (The Big Short).

It’s created by Emmy nominee Monica Beletsky, who previously worked on Fargo, The Leftovers, and Friday Night Lights. Beletsky also serves as showrunner and executive producer. It is produced by Apple Studios and coproduced by Lionsgate Television in association with POV Entertainment, Walden Media, 3 Arts Entertainment, Dovetale Productions, and Monarch Pictures.

Beletsky, Emmy nominee Carl Franklin, Layne Eskridge, and Kate Barry executive produce. Swanson, author of Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer, also serves as executive producer alongside Michael Rotenberg, Richard Abate, Frank Smith, and Naia Cucukov. Franklin (Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, One False Move, Devil in a Blue Dress) also directed the first two episodes.

Manhunt is among several upcoming Apple TV+ shows for 2024.
