Cuckoo Release Date Confirmed for Hunter Schafer’s Mysterious Horror Movie

Neon‘s Hunter Schafer-led horror Cuckoo has a release date. But we still don’t know much about it.

Cuckoo Release Date and Details

Neon already has the Maika Monroe/Nicholas Cage serial killer film Longlegs and the Sydney Sweeney religious horror Immaculate on the slate for 2024. And now the long-gestating Cuckoo will be hitting theaters on May 3, 2024.

Cuckoo is directed by Tillman Singer, who helmed the wonderfully weird homage to 80s Euro horror, LUZ. Little is known about Cuckoo beyond that one image of Schafer hiding from an out-of-focus threat. But the basic premise is as follows.

On a trip to the German Alps with her father and stepmother, Gretchen discovers that the resort town where they’re staying hides sinister secrets. She’s then plagued by strange noises and frightening visions of a woman pursuing her.

Cuckoo stars Hunter Schafer (Euphoria) Dan Stevens (The Guest), Jessica Henwick (Love & Monsters), Marton Csókás (Freelance), Astrid Bergès-Frisbey (Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides), Greta Fernández (Embers) and Jan Bluthardt (Luz).

The film is being executive produced by Neon’s Tom Quinn, Jeff Deutchman, Emily Thomas, and Ryan Friscia. Producers are Markus Halberschmidt, Josh Rosenbaum, Maria Tsigka, and Ken Kao, Thor Bradwell, and Ben Rimmer.
