Connescence: Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick Reunite for First Movie in 20 Years

Real-life husband-and-wife Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are set to star in a romantic comedy film together. Michael J. Weithorn (The King of Queens) will be writing and directing the movie, titled Connescence

Bacon and Sedgwick will play the lead characters in the project and will be joined by Brittany O’Grady (White Lotus) and Judd Hirsch (The Fabelmans). This marks the first time the two will be on a screen together in 20 years, after the drama films Cavedweller and The Woodsman debuted in theaters in the same year.

The real-life couple tied the knot in 1988 and have two children, including Sosie Bacon (Smile). In a statement (via Deadline), Sedgwick and Bacon expressed their excitement to pair up once again in a movie they both described as “funny, moving, and original.”

According to Deadline, filming for Connescene — which had already kicked off its principal photography — will continue for 22 days in Brooklyn. Connescence will also mark Weithorn’s second feature film after the 2010 dramedy A Little Help

What is Connescence about?

Hailing from Victoria Hill and Greg Clark‘s Fibonacci Films, Connescence is set to tell the story of an underachieving security guard, Stan Olszewski (Bacon), who attempted to rob the home of husband-and-wife Cynthia Rand (Sedgwick) and Warren Rand (Hirsch). Their chance encounter, however, strikes up a friendship that may shake their lives, whether for better or worse.

“We are thrilled and excited to bring this timely, entertaining and moving story to life with such a stellar cast,” said Hill. Andrew Mann, Hill, Sedgwick, and Bacon will serve as producers, with Laura D’Augello co-producing.

Since Connescence is still in its early stages of development, other details about the project remain under wraps.
