Best ISFP Anime Characters: Eren Yeager, Itadori Yuji & More

The genre of anime is famous for its dynamic characters engaging in gripping narratives. While there is no doubt that the characters are unique in their own ways, some of them exhibit common traits. This helps us club them into one particular category of MBTI (the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator). As such, in this article, we will explore five of the most loved ISFP characters in anime, known for their astounding creativity and adaptability.

Eren Yeager, Attack on Titan

Though some people type him as an ESFP, Eren Yeager’s strong sense of Fi (introverted feeling) shows throughout the series. He makes decisions based on his personal values, even if they are fueled with hatred and violence. He also has a strong sense of justice while being passionate about rebelling against societal constraints. This, again, aligns with an ISFP’s general personal expression.

Moreover, his hardheadedness and the need to care for his friends, despite a lack of self-restraint, solidify his status as an ISFP. Eren’s personality mellows over time, but his internal conflicts never stop bothering him. Ultimately, his own personal desire for freedom leads him to start the brutal Rumbling.

Nana Osaki, Nana

Nana’s creative tendencies and a strong artistic inclination as a skilled musician of a punk rock band are typical of an ISFP’s inclination towards art and aesthetics. However, beneath her Goth-punk appearance, she is emotional and deeply cares about her friends, reflecting her emotional depth. Enjoying her individuality, Nana is independent and often rebellious against societal conformity. Despite various setbacks, she leads Blast, her band, reflecting her strong demeanor.

Thorfinn, Vinland Saga

One of the most moving characters in anime, Thorfinn’s introspective abilities in the face of emotional upheaval display his introverted persona. He is grounded in the present, while his need for vengeance is rooted in his personal beliefs. As his values evolve with the evolution of the plot, he gives up on violence, which, again, is driven by his strong values.

Thorfinn’s significant growth in character displays his adaptability and flexibility, something very common amongst ISFPs. Moreover, he is artistic in the sense that he is a talented mercenary, adopting skilled techniques to gain victory in his orchestrations.

Ichigo Kurosaki, Bleach

Another ISFP character in anime is Ichigo Kurosaki, the self-reliant protagonist from Bleach. He relies on his instincts, displaying his tertiary Ni (introverted intuition), and, like most ISFPs, makes his decisions based on his personal biases. Ichigo’s strong sense of duty and motivation to protect the ones he loves displays the importance he gives to emotional connection.

As a Soul Reaper, he uses his powers creatively and effectively. Moreover, he is reserved but doesn’t mind going with the flow, displaying spontaneity. Also, the range of his traits reflects the possibility of Ichigo Kurosaki being a fit as an anime character with ISFP MBTI type.

Itadori Yuji, Jujutsu Kaisen

One of the most loved anime characters with ISFP MBTI, Itadori Yuji’s character development within two seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen has been off the charts. Predominantly reliant on his principles and the value of serving a dignified death, his moral compass never fails him. He is shattered when Sukuna takes over his body and causes mass murder during the Shibuya Incident.

Yuji is sacrificial and can go to any extent to protect his comrades. He is spontaneous, adapts remarkably well, and is extremely sensitive. Moreover, he can quickly form deep connections, as evident in his first encounter with Junpei. Itadori Yuji is naturally one of the healthiest ISFP characters in anime.
