Smartest Anime Characters to Ever Exist

Anime has always featured characters who were ingenious and played against each other with their wit. And seemingly, the audiences admire these characters and their indifferent personalities. One of the prime examples of an anime that twisted psychology with romance is Kaguya-sama: Love is War, and fans are head over heels for this series.

There are a plethora of characters who fall under this category. May it be the intelligent battle strategists that dominate Naruto or the iconic masters of manipulation in Death Note or Code Geass, audiences enjoy them a lot.

So here are the smartest characters from anime who won the hearts of the fans with their intelligence:

Code Geass isn’t a very popular show, but it’s an underrated gem. It revolves around Lelouch Lamperouge, the protagonist of the show, who is quite an enticing man. He possesses the power to compel others with a command that can’t be disobeyed. And here is the fascinating part about the series. He plans out an intricate revolution against the oppressive Britannian Empire that rules over Japan. This leads to Lelouch making enemies with the most powerful military in the world, some of its greatest military minds, and even others who possess powers like his own.

2. Light Yagami

Light Yagami wanted to create his reality. His version of the world, using a power gifted to him called the Death Note. His intelligence remains unbeaten, but the ethical issues made this character rather deranged. Death Note is the story of a battle of minds between two of the world’s most brilliant, and Light Yagami does everything he can to ensure victory.

Light is a completely diabolical monster with a unique kind of mind that came up with such a detailed plan in the first place that even the greatest detective in the world couldn’t catch him.

3. Kiyotaka Ayanokoji

Kiyotaka Ayanokoji is what someone calls “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” He is quiet, unassuming, and achieves the most average grades that is humanly possible. However, there is a lot to him that he shows the world.

He achieved average grades intentionally and possesses keen intelligence, which is revealed later on in the first season of Classroom of the Elite. Despite trying to hide his superior intellect and physical abilities, Kiyotaka’s intelligence impressed viewers and made him stand out.

4. Shikamaru Nara

In the world of Naruto, where chakra flows through everyone and some characters possess the power to spawn meteors from the sky, Shikamaru Nara thrives due to the power of his intellect. Due to his lazy personality, he receives consistently poor grades. But that doesn’t imply that Shikamaru isn’t hiding an astounding level of intelligence.

He notices even the smallest details that others might go around. This makes him one of the most intelligent strategists in the entire series. He can then take advantage of his attention to detail to ensure a favorable fight, even against insurmountable enemies.

5. Senku Ishigami

Senku Ishigami is obsessed with science, and that translates into the series Dr. Stone. He gets the opportunity to civilize a primitive society in a Stone world. While most people would struggle to get a hold of their lives if thrown into a lesser society, Senku applied his technological knowledge.

His admiration for science is contagious, and he also radiates a delightful charm when it comes to ensuring his ideas get off the ground. He is brilliant and resourceful, necessary to make anything work in the Stone World. He is one of the most intelligent anime characters in Dr. Stone.
