The Iron Claw First Look Video Sees Cast Recall Filming Intense Wrestling Scenes

A new video for A24’s The Iron Claw sees Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, and Harris Dickinson break down filming the upcoming movie’s intense wrestling scenes.

A24 shared a new video for The Iron Claw that sees White, Efron, and Harris recall the “demanding” experience they had portraying the Von Erich brothers in the upcoming drama film.

“We were training with these professional wrestlers,” White says in the video. “It was demanding — hitting the mat over and over and over again.”

What is The Iron Claw about?

“The true story of the inseparable Von Erich brothers, who made history in the intensely competitive world of professional wrestling in the early 1980s,” the official synopsis reads. “Through tragedy and triumph, under the shadow of their domineering father and coach, the brothers seek larger-than-life immortality on the biggest stage in sports.”

The Iron Claw is written and directed by Sean Durkin, this marking his third time directing a feature film following 2011’s Martha Marcy May Marlene and 2020’s The Nest. He also directed several episodes of Prime Videos’ Dead Ringers miniseries and the 2013 Channel 4 miniseries Southcliffe.

Along with Efron as Kevin Von Erich, White as Kerry Von Erich, and Dickinson as David Von Erich, The Iron Claw stars Stanley Simons as Mike Von Erich, Maura Tierney as Doris Von Erich, Holt McCallany as Fritz Von Erich, and Lily James as Pam Addison.

Tessa Ross, Juliette Howell, Angus Lamont, Durkin, and A24 all produced the movie, while Derrin Schlesinger, Harrison Huffman, Len Blavatnik, Danny Cohen, and Eva Yates serve as executive producers.

Early access screenings for The Iron Claw begin showing on December 13, 2023. The movie will release everywhere in the United States on December 22, 2023, from A24.
