The episode begins with Ji-Yong and Jo-Heon’s physical altercation. Just as the latter strangles the vigilante, he rescues himself. Ji-Yong asks Jo-Heon to prove that the law won’t take the criminals’ side and punish them in the case of Kim Sam-Doo and his Vole. In the previous episode, it was revealed that Kim Sam-Doo partook in multiple illegal businesses along with the Vole, who turned out to be Chief Superintendent General Eum Jae-Hyub.

Meanwhile, Eum Jae-Hyub asks Jo-Heon to resign as the leader of the vigilante investigation team. The detective agrees to it, with the mission of stopping Ji-Yong himself. Jo-Heon asks Choi Mi-Ryeo’s (Kim So-Jin) attacker about Mr. Bang’s whereabouts. However, the attacker only manages to give him details about Mr. Bang’s ally.

Kang-Ok admits to Ji-Yong in the hospital. The latter soon discovers that reporter Choi Mi-Ryeo has been asked to resign. He seeks Kang-Ok to help her keep reporting, and he follows the orders. He gives Choi Mi-Ryeo a space to report. On the other hand, Jo-Heon continues his search for Mr. Bang. While a new leader, Nam Yeong-Gil, emerges for the vigilante investigation.

Ji-Yong finds that Mitieum Church pastor, Shin Jong-Eun, has been laundering and managing money for Kim Sam-Doo. He manages to strangle the man in charge of the details about the same and transfers it all to a pen drive. However, he sees Kang-Ok and chases him. Eventually, Ji-Yong accepts Kang-Ok’s help. He hands him the pen drive, asking him to give it to Choi Mi-Ryeo.

Nam Yeong-Gil meets the head of the police university. While investigating Jo-Heon’s previous arrival and what it entailed. Ji-Yong enters the room as a police university student. Yeong-Gil also has his suspicions towards Ji-Yong, just like Jo-Heon. Meanwhile, Shin Jong-Eun finishes a session in the church and heads to his room.

The Pastor asks his men if they’d successfully thrown money laundering details away. He is happy to hear a positive response. However, Ji-Yong arrives just in time to strangle and kill the Pastor. As the news goes public, Kang-Ok gives reporter Choi Mi-Ryeo the same details to air on her show. She decides to air it on her newly formed news channel.

However, Jo-Heon arrives just in time before she can reveal all the important details. Meanwhile, Kim Sam-Doo sends Mr. Bang and his ally to kill the reporter. Jo-Heon warns Choi Mi-Ryeo of the impending danger. He also accuses her of glorifying the vigilante’s actions to get views. However, Choi Mi-Ryeo asks him to leave as she isn’t afraid of anyone.

As Jo-Heon heads back, he faces an attack by Mr. Bang and his ally. A fight ensues, and the detective ends up badly injured. Just as Mr. Bang is about to stab him, Ji-Yong arrives to save Jo-Heon. At the end of the episode, the detective falls unconscious or potentially dead from the attack.
