Ted Prequel Series Release Date Set for Seth MacFarlane’s Peacock Show

Just a few days after releasing a first look at the character, Seth MacFarlane has shared the Ted release date as well as a new clip previewing the upcoming Peacock series.

The release date was confirmed by MacFarlane on Twitter, with the series officially arriving on Peacock on January 11, 2024, when all seven episodes will be available immediately. The first clip for the series sees past Ted writing future Ted a letter. The letter contains a bunch of jokes about being on the “best streaming service ever,” what the future might look like, and more.

Who will be in the new Ted series?

The Ted prequel series will star MacFarlane, Alanna Ubach, Giorgia Whigham (The Punisher, 13 Reasons Why), Max Burkholder (Parenthood), and Scott Grimes (Oppenheimer, The Orville). The show will come from MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door production banner and will take place prior to the two films in the timeline of Ted.

The first two Ted films became a hit for Universal Pictures and MacFarlane and starred both MacFarlane and Mark Wahlberg as Ted and the grown-up version of John Bennett — Ted’s best friend. The two films went on to gross more than $750 million worldwide, with the first Ted becoming the highest-grossing original R-rated comedy film of all time.
