JTBC released the first teaser trailer of Welcome to Samdalri that showcases Jo Yong-Pil and Jo Sam-Dal’s journey from the time they were born together, to growing up as best friends, to becoming lovers, to breaking up, and potentially reuniting after Sam-Dal’s return. The trailer also gives viewers a sneak peek of how they were as a couple before breaking up.

Ji Chang-Wook & Shin Hye-Sun’s dating timeline revealed in Welcome to Samdalri teaser

The new JTBC trailer of Welcome to Samdalri begins with an introduction to Jo Yong-Pil and Jo Sam-Dal. The two were born on the same day just five minutes apart. Just like how they are seen holding hands in the beginning, the two have been together and inseparable for the next 30 years. The trailer showcases the two growing up and being there for each other through all the ups and downs of life.

The trailer narrates, “For 30 years since birth, there has been no Jo Yong-Pil without Jo Sam-Dal and no Jo Sam-Dal without Jo Yong-Pil.” The two share lovable moments throughout the sneak peek. It goes on to show a lovely progression of their friendship into a relationship. While having drinks Jo Yong-Pil asks Jo Sam-Dal out.

Both of them share lovely moments as a couple before it all takes a turn for the worse. Due to an unfortunate turn of events, Jo Sam-Dal tells Jo Yong-Pil, “I don’t like you anymore, so let’s break up.” Viewers will have to wait and see what happened for them to break up, and for Jo Sam-Dal to leave her hometown.

After some time, Jo Sam-Dal returns to her hometown. This surprises the residents as well as Jo Yong-Pil. The latter notes how “it’s been a while” since the two have seen each other. After her return, the scenes turn melancholy, previewing their tumultuous relationship. The two break down over different scenes, but also get closer than ever before. There is still hope for their relationship, after all.

In another scene, Jo Sam-Dal is emotional as she asks Jo Yong-Pil, “Do you know why I didn’t come to Jeju and who it is because of that I couldn’t come?” To this, he asks if she still hates him like before.

To watch what happens between the two, tune in to Welcome to Samdalri on December 2, 2023, at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC and Netflix.
