Did They Ever Find Natalee Holloway’s Remains?

Nearly two decades ago, Natalee Holloway, a teen from Alabama, was on a graduation trip to Aruba when she went missing. She was never found again. However, a man named Joran van der Sloot recently made a shocking confession about what happened on May 30, 2005.

Sloot confessed that he smashed Holloway’s head with a cinder block on a beach after she resisted his sexual advances. He then pushed “her off into– into the– into the– into the sea.” The victim’s body has never been found, as per People Magazine.

Natalee Holloway’s disappearance and murder case, explored

According to People Magazine, in May 2005, Natalee Holloway was on a high school graduation trip to Aruba when she disappeared. She was last seen leaving an island bar with a man, later identified as Joran van der Sloot on May 30. Seven years later, in 2012, a judge signed an official order that declared her dead. Nonetheless, her body has never been found.

Initially, Aruban authorities had arrested Sloot in connection with Holloway’s missing case. He was released due to a lack of direct evidence. However, the man’s crimes did not go unnoticed. The outlet reported that he murdered a Peruvian woman in 2010 and had received a 28-year sentence for the same.

Sloot’s confession regarding Natalee Holloway’s murder came after he was accused of attempting to defraud the victim’s family. He falsely tried to sell information about the location of her remains to Beth Holloway, the mother, in exchange for $250,000. CNN reported that he pleaded guilty to extortion and fraud-related charges in October this year. He received a 20-year sentence.

Later, in a recorded confession, Sloot admitted to smashing the teen’s head with a cinderblock on an Aruban beach on May 30, 2005. The killer added that after killing the victim, he pushed her body into the ocean, never to be found. After admitting to the murder, he received a 28-year sentence for the same.
