PI Meena starts working on a case

The story begins when Meenakshi, portrayed by Tanya Maniktala, encounters a tragic hit-and-run accident on a street. Initially, it seems like a simple accident, but the victim’s mother urges Meena to investigate it further. As she dives deeper into the case, she uncovers a web of conspiracy related to the victim, Partho, a virologist. Partho’s research led to the discovery of a dangerous virus named, the Giant Atlantic Virus. This virus can cause massive harm if misused.

Meena’s investigation takes her to Littnong. In Littnong, she seeks the help of Dr. Andrew Rakhaw, a virologist at the local hospital. Dr. Rakhaw provides her with a slide containing the virus’ sample. However, she faces more danger when she realizes that even trusted individuals may have their own motives. Dr. Nair, another virologist in Kolkata, turns out to be part of a larger intelligence network. He betrays her by selling the information she has gathered to Tridib, compromising PI Meena’s mission.

Was Partho the victim or the culprit?

As the story unfolds, Meena discovers the shocking truth about Partho. He was not at all an innocent victim. In reality, he was the one who initiated the conspiracy by selling the virus to a terrorist group. Realizing the potential destruction the virus could cause, Partho came to Kolkata to stop it. Unfortunately, his former professor, Dr. Basu, was not pleased with his betrayal and orchestrated the accident that led to Partho’s death.

Meena initially started her quest out of emotional reasons but ultimately decided to do the right thing to prevent a potential genocide. Moreover, she is haunted by her past which causes difficulty in her mission. She blames herself for a previous family accident that left her and her brother orphaned. Throughout the series, she converses with her comatose brother, promising to protect him and everyone else.

What happened in the end?

Initially, Partho discovered the Giant Atlantic Virus in Berlin. He later sold it to the terrorist group, Tirakh, of which Dr. Basu is a member. The virus was released in Littnong and later in Kolkata. Its unique properties, found in glaciers, allow it to remain dormant until it is activated in a laboratory.

While it appears that Tridib may not be involved in the terror plot and is attempting to stop it, Meena cannot trust him. In the final episode, she confronts Dr. Basu alone. A tense confrontation ensues with Dr. Basu attempting to inject her with a dangerous drug. Meena manages to overpower him, leaving him injured on the floor. Realizing there are no surviving witnesses, she flees the scene.

The series concludes with Meena reflecting on her recklessness and the choices she made, contemplating how she might have avoided the dangerous situation she found herself in.
