Black Box: Sci-Fi Anthology Series Brings Technological Horrors This Halloween

Dark Matter TV is premiering the sci-fi anthology series Black Box, and has revealed the plot summaries for each of its tales of technological terrors.

Created by Tom Sokalski, the show stars Reece Presley (Hitler’s Last Stand), Jordan Schartner (Arrow), Leanne K. Hoffman (Infamous), and Marco Girgenti (Fear Thy Neighbor).

Black Box Episode Details

Black Box is an anthology series, about the near and far future impacts of Artificial Intelligence on society, with each episode focusing on a different social issue. The episode descriptions are as follows.

GearHead is about a virtual reality addict who attempts to relive a fantasy with a lost love, as his brother attempts to keep him in the real world.

Ignurence is about a post-apocalyptic world that bans literature, deemed as dangerous for causing the collapse–a few survivors collect books in an attempt to rebuild civilization in an age of misinformation.

Obliteration is about a rogue AI that is believed to have created a pandemic to obliterate the world population–a couple of survivors fight back and learn about its true intentions.

GodMachine is about the remnants of a society who are forced to live underground and form a cult that believes a higher power(an artificial intelligence) is terraforming the earth above them.

Quarantine is about a radical thinker who is silenced by an authoritarian state controlled by Artificial Intelligence; it deals with censorship and mental illness.

The show is available to watch on Dark Matter TV right now, with all episodes out by October 31, 2023.
