X-Men ’97 Release Date Window Delayed to 2024

X-Men ’97 Release Date Window Delayed to 2024

Marvel Studios has reportedly shifted the dates on a ton of its television series, including X-Men ’97, which The Hollywood Reporter says is getting a new release window.

When does X-Men ’97 come out on Disney+?

Originally planned to release in the fall of 2023, THR notes that the animated series will instead premiere sometime in early 2024.

In a report on the changing slate for Marvel Studios, THR says that X-Men ’97 is being described “as a retro and a love letter to the original” X-Men animated series. A second season of X-Men ’97 also remains in the works, according to THR, but work on that has likely come to a stop as the WGA and SAG-AFTRA continue to strike.

Currently, not a whole lot is known about X-Men ’97, besides the fact it will feature a ton of characters from the iconic comic series, and that Nathaniel Essex/Mister Sinister will be the lead villain, and will be voiced by X-Men: The Animated Series actor Christopher Britton.

X-Men ’97 will be written by Beau DeMayo, who wrote The Witcher‘s animated spin-off Nightmare of the Wolf for Netflix, and will retain the original theme music from the iconic X-Men animated series of the past.
