If you watched the movie and are still wondering about that ending, ComingSoon has your back. Here’s what’s going on with that 80 for Brady ending. Spoilers ahead!

Does Lou get well in the 80 for Brady ending?

Lou seems to be pretty healthy by the end of 80 for Brady.

Inspired by a true story, 80 for Brady is the journey of four friends who wanted to watch the 2017’s Super Bowl LI and meet their idol, Tom Brady. Before their journey starts, Louella (Tomlin) receives bad news from her doctor as her cancer might return. Lou had already overcome illness once, thanks to Brady’s example. During the Big Game, Lou revealed to Brady he was a massive inspiration for her to keep fighting, asking him to do the same.

After Lou’s motivational speech, the New England Patriots made a historic comeback in the second half after trailing significantly. At halftime, the Atlanta Falcons were leading 28-3, but the Patriots, led by Brady, managed to tie the game 28-28 by the end of regulation time. In the first-ever overtime in Super Bowl history, the Patriots won the game by scoring a touchdown.

The four friends then meet again to watch the 2020 NFL Season, with Brady now playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Trish (Fonda) is toasting to the person who brought them all together as the camera briefly shows Lou’s empty chair. In seconds, Lou appears as she apologizes for being late. Trish then raises her glass to their ‘healthy quarterback,’ implying Lou didn’t have cancer.

80 for Brady was successful, grossing over $40.4 million at the box office and overcoming its $28 million production budget. It is now available to watch on Prime Video and other digital platforms.
