Captain America: New World Order Adds Xosha Roquemore

According to Deadline, The Mindy Project alum Xosha Roquemore has been officially been tapped to star opposite Anthony Mackie in Marvel Studios’ upcoming fourth installment in the Captain America franchise, Captain America: New World Order. Further details about Roquemore’s character are still being kept under wraps, but she is reportedly expected to play a key role in the MCU project.

Roquemore’s film credits include Lee Daniels’ historical drama The Butler and the animated/live-action sports comedy Space Jam: A New Legacy. She has also previously guest-starred in First Wives Club, Black Monday, and Atlanta.

Captain America: New World Order will be directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay written by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. The film features Mackie reprising his role as Sam Wilson, who has now officially taken on the mantle of the MCU’s new Captain America. He will be joined by returning Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly, who are once again playing the roles of Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley, respectively.

Additionally, The Incredible Hulk actor Tim Blake Nelson will also be reprising his role as Marvel villain Samuel Sterns/Leader nearly 15 years after the Edward Norton-led film’s theatrical debut. New World Order will also include the introduction of MCU newcomers Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross and Shira Haas as Sabra.

The film is scheduled to make its debut on May 3, 2024.
