The Last of Us HBO Character Posters Spotlight Main Cast

The Last of Us is coming to HBO Max in just over a month. And while some of the cast members have already appeared in the trailers, HBO has released new posters of the series showing many of its main characters.

The show’s official Twitter account tweeted out the posters for Joel, Ellie, Riley, Marlene, Tess, Sam, Henry, Sarah, Tommy, Bill, and Frank, which can be seen in the gallery below. Most of them have made their debuts in various trailers or teasers, if only briefly, but these images offer a closer look at each of them.

It’s possible more information about The Last of Us will come out over the next few days, as the show will have a presence at Comic-Con Experience in Brazil. Along with the activation, there will also be a panel on December 3 at noon PT with Gabriel Luna, Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Merle Dandridge, Craig Mazin, and Neil Druckmann.

The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone,” says the synopsis. “What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.”

Joining Pascal and Ramsey are Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate) as Tommy Miller, Nico Parker (Dumbo) as Joel’s daughter Sarah, Anna Torv (Mindhunter) as Tess, and Merle Dandridge (The Flight Attendant) as she reprises her role from the video games as Marlene, the leader of a resistance group known as the Fireflies. It also features Jeffrey Pierce (Bosch) as Perry, Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus) as Frank, Con O’Neill (Chernobyl) as Bill, and Storm Reid (Euphoria) as Riley.

The live-action series is executive produced and co-written by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and original game writer Neil Druckmann, who is also serving as one of the directors. It is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television in association with PlayStation Productions. Executive producers are Carolyn Strauss, Naughty Dog President Evan Wells, and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan.
