Aubrey Plaza to Make MCU Debut in Agatha: Coven of Chaos

Aubrey Plaza is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe according to an exciting report from The Illuminerdi.

While it isn’t known what character the Parks and Recreation vet will play, the talented actress will have a role in the upcoming Agatha: Coven of Chaos series on Disney+. The show is a spin-off of the MCU hit WandaVision and plot details are currently scarce.

Plaza currently stars in HBO’s The White Lotus and the FXX animated series Little Demon. She’s also appeared in Legion, Dirty Grandpa, and Emily the Criminal. It will also see Plaza reunite with Agatha star Kathryn Hahn, as both appeared in Parks and Recreation (Plaza was series mainstay April Ludgate while Hahn guest appeared as Jen Barkley).

Agatha: Coven of Chaos (formerly titled House of Harkness) was officially announced during Disney Day 2021. It will feature the return of Hahn as she reprises her WandaVision role as Agatha Harkness, who was one of the Elizabeth Olsen-led series’ antagonists and the one who revealed Wanda’s true potential as the Scarlet Witch. For her fan-favorite performance, she earned an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

The upcoming project hails from head writer Jac Schaeffer, who is also serving as an executive producer along with Kevin Feige. It is confirmed to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is expected to make its premiere in Winter 2023.
