She-Hulk Explained: Whose Mask Appears in Episode 5?

She-Hulk Episode 5 didn’t feature an MCU cameo, but it hinted at a well-beloved character by showing a certain mask.

One of the latest She-Hulk: Attorney at Law installment’s subplots saw Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) visiting a superhero-fashion designer’s boutique to get an adequate dress for her status. Among other interesting clothes in that place, the camera showed a peculiar mask. Let’s see who is the owner of that mask.

Whose Mask Appears in Episode 5?

The mask appearing in She-Hulk Episode 5 belongs to Daredevil. While the story didn’t mention the blind vigilante nor Matt Murdock’s name, it is no big secret he will appear in the series soon. The story clearly states that the tailor portrayed by Griffin Matthews works only with exclusive clients. It implies that Daredevil has already made quite a reputation after cleaning the streets of Hell’s Kitchen. In other words, fans won’t likely see another origin story when Matt Murdock returns to the MCU. It’s safe to assume that the story will take all that happened in Netflix’s Daredevil original series for granted. The streaming service produced three seasons that aired from 2015 to 2018.

As fans have already noticed, the mask and helmet show off a different color than the red one Daredevil is known for. In the comics, Murdock used his father’s old boxing robes to make a yellow and black costume when he started his career as a vigilante. After assuming the identity of Daredevil, Murdock changed his costume to red. Over the years, Daredevil had different costumes but eventually settled down to the red one.

When Will Daredevil Appear on She-Hulk?

The recently released mid-season trailer showed that Charlie Cox would reprise his Marvel Cinematic Universe character after making a brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Now, it is just a matter of when it will happen. She-Hulk Episode 5’s finale might suggest that the Daredevil cameo will go down in the upcoming Episode 6. However, Marvel might want to keep it in store for She-Hulk‘s final installments.

Daredevil will be the latest established MCU character to appear in She-Hulk in a list that includes Smart-Hulk, Abomination, and Wong. The blind vigilante is expected to team up with the titular heroine in taking on bad guys. Charlie Cox’s lead hero will also be the protagonist of a new Disney+ series titled Daredevil: Born Again, debuting in 2024.
