White Noise Teaser Trailer Previews Noah Baumbach’s Dark Comedy Film

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for acclaimed filmmaker Noah Baumbach’s forthcoming film adaptation of White Noise, based on Don DeLillo’s 1985 satire novel of the same name. There is currently no release date attached to the film yet, but it’s expected to be available for streaming sometime this year, after its world premiere at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival.

The White Noise teaser trailer provides us with first look at Oscar nominees Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig as they portray the role of a married couple with four children. Their mundane life gets disrupted as they find themselves facing an apocalyptic event.

White Noise is written and directed by Noah Baumbach, who’s reuniting with Netflix and Adam Driver following the success of Marriage Story. Joining Driver and Gerwig are Don Cheadle, Raffey Cassidy, Sam Nivola, May Nivola, Lars Eidinger, Andre Benjamin, Jodie Turner-Smith.

“At once hilarious and horrifying, lyrical and absurd, ordinary and apocalyptic, the film dramatizes a contemporary American family’s attempts to deal with the mundane conflicts of everyday life while grappling with the universal mysteries of love, death, and the possibility of happiness in an uncertain world,” reads the logline.

The film is produced by Baumbach, David Heyman, and Uri Singer.

This also marks Gerwig’s first live-action acting project after five years since starring in 2016’s 20th Century Women. This is her fourth collaboration with Baumbach after working together on 2010’s Greenberg, 2012’s Frances Ha, and most recently on the script of the live-action Barbie film.
