Mrs. Davis will be written and executive produced by Lindelof and Hernandez, with the latter set as its showrunner. Black Mirror director Owen Harris has also boarded the project. He will helm multiple episodes and serve as an executive producer.

The series is being described as an “exploration of faith versus technology — an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions.” Gilpin is set to portray the role of a nun, who will be going up against an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence.

This marks Gilpin’s second collaboration with Lindelof after working together on the controversial 2020 film The Hunt, which was co-written by the acclaimed TV creator. Gilpin gained recognition for her acclaimed role as Debbie Eagan in Netflix’s GLOW, which earned her three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress. She will next be seen in Starz’s limited series about the Watergate scandal title Gaslit.
