The Bubble Trailer Previews Judd Apatow’s Film Within a Film Comedy

Netflix has finally dropped the official The Bubble trailer for Judd Apatow’s next star-studded comedy, centering around a group of actors and actresses filming the sixth installment to the fictional dinosaur franchise Cliff Beasts during the pandemic. The film is slated to make its debut on Friday, April 1.

The video highlights the comedy’s film within a film concept with the real cast portraying Cliff Beasts‘ fictional cast and crew as they drive each other crazy during their time together in a pandemic bubble. It highlights the production setbacks that they will go through including some of them getting sick.

In addition, the streamer has also released the teaser and featurette for The Bubble‘s fictional movie titled Cliff Beasts 6: The Battle for Mount Everest. You can check out the videos below along with the poster and photos in the gallery.

The Bubble is produced and directed by Judd Apatow from a screenplay he co-wrote with Pam Brady. It stars Karen Gillan, Iris Apatow, Fred Armisen, Maria Bakalova, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann, Pedro Pascal, Peter Serafinowicz, Vir Das, Rob Delaney, Galen Hopper, Samson Kayo, Guz Khan, Nick Kocher, Ross Lee, Harry Trevaldwyn, and Danielle Vitalis.

“A comedy about a group of actors and actresses stuck inside a pandemic bubble at a hotel attempting to complete a sequel to an action franchise film about flying dinosaurs,” reads the synopsis for the main film. Meanwhile, the fictional movie Cliff Beasts 6 is described as “the sixth installment of the 23rd largest Dino franchise ever.” It centers around returning franchise stars as they reunite after 5 years to once again battle the titular flying dinosaurs on Mount Everest.

Apatow made his feature directorial debut with 2005’s The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which became a breakout hit for the comedian and established him as a powerhouse talent for Universal Pictures. Apatow went on to direct more comedy hits such as Knocked Up and Trainwreck, while also producing Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek.
