Slow Horses Photos Set Date for Apple’s Gary Oldman-Led Spy Series

Apple TV+ has revealed the first official photos for the upcoming series adaptation of Slow Horses, which is based on Mick Herron’s espionage novel Slough House. It is scheduled to make its worldwide debut on April 1, with the first two episodes. This will then be followed by weekly episode drops every Friday.

The Slow Horses photos, which you can check out below, provide us with our first look at the main cast led by Oscar-winner Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, the leader of MI5’s rejected agents. This project marks Oldman’s first major TV role in over two decades.

Slow Horses is directed and executive produced by James Hawes from a script written by Veep‘s Will Smith. Joining Oldman are Academy Award nominees Kristin Scott Thomas (Darkest Hour) and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes) along with Jack Lowden (Dunkirk) and Olivia Cooke (Sound of Metal, House of the Dragon).

“It follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 – Slough House,” reads the synopsis. “Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but irascible leader of the spies who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes.”

The novel was first published in 2010 and has already spawned seven sequels consisting of Dead LionsThe List, Real Tigers, Spook Street, London Rules, The Drop, and the most recently Joe Country.

Executive producers are Smith, Graham Yost, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Gail Mutrux, and Douglas Urbanski. It is a production by See-Saw Films.
