Extraction 2 Photos Reveal First Look at Tyler Rake’s Return

As production continues on Extraction 2 in Prague, Marvel Cinematic Universe vet Chris Hemsworth took to Instagram to reveal the first-look photos for Netflix’s upcoming follow-up to last year’s popular action thriller.

In the first photo, we get to see our first glimpse of Tyler Rake’s return, who was previously thought to be dead due to the serious gunshot wound to the neck that he sustained during the last minutes of the first film.

The Extraction 2 photos, which you can check out below, give us a preview of Rake’s next deadly rescue mission, which will take him into a whole new place. Meanwhile, the second photo features Hemsworth together with director Sam Hargrave.

Extraction 2 is once again being directed by Sam Hargrave from a screenplay written by returning scribe Joe Russo. Just like the first film, it is also produced by Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo through their AGBO banner along with Hemsworth.

It will feature the return of Chris Hemsworth as skilled black-ops mercenary Tyler Rake, who was last seen by viewers with a gunshot wound to his neck. It remains to be seen how the sequel will address his survival from his near-fatal injury. The sequel was originally planning on shooting in Australia, but due to the ongoing pandemic, the streamer decided to move its production to the Czech Republic.

The original film took place in an underworld of weapons dealers and traffickers and followed a young boy who becomes the pawn in a war between notorious drug lords. It was positively received, with critics praising its action sequences. During its first month of release, it was Netflix’ most-watched film as it garnered 90 million households.

Extraction also starred David Harbour (Stranger Things, Black Widow), Derek Luke (13 Reasons Why), Fay Masterson (Vice), Golshifteh Farahani (Paterson), and newcomer Rudhraksh Jaiswal.
