Epic Games announced that on December 24, 2021, at 7 p.m. ET, the legendary bounty hunter would be making his way into the game, dressed in his outfit from the upcoming Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett.

A brief teaser image was also shared twith the announcement, showing Fett seated next to his partner Fennec Shand, who also looks like she’ll be getting some sort of Fortnite treatment. It’s currently unclear what type of gear Boba Fett will come with when he drops into the game, but past bundles in Fortnite have usually included some sort of back bling, banner, and glider combination.

This isn’t the first time that Fortnite and Star Wars have partnered together, with the game hosting a huge event in 2019-20 to promote Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. That event saw the likes of Finn, Rey, and a Sith Trooper all added into the game as playable characters.

The Mandalorian spin-off is executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, Karen Gilchrist, and Carrie Beck, with John Bartnicki, and John Hampian set as producers.

Lucasfilm had previously attempted to produce Boba Fett spinoffs before the character appeared in The Mandalorian. However, none of the planned spinoffs took off and made it to production. This includes a live-action TV series from George Lucas and a Boba-centric film from Fantastic Four director Josh Trank, which both didn’t move forward with their productions.
