America Ferrera Joins Leto & Hathaway in Apple TV+’s WeCrashed Series

As production continues on Apple TV+’s WeCrashed, Deadline brings word that Golden Globe winner America Ferrera has officially signed on to star opposite Oscar winners Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway in the upcoming limited drama series. She is set to portray the role of Elishia Kennedy, who is described as a brilliant young entrepreneur seduced into joining WeWork whose life is turned upside down as a result.

Ferrera is best known for her leading performances in hit sitcoms such as Ugly Betty and Superstore, with the first one earning her Emmy and Golden Globe awards for Best Actress. Her other notable works include: The Sister of the Traveling Pants films, Real Women Have Curves, Lords of Dogtown, Our Family Wedding, and How to Train Your Dragon trilogy.

WeCrashed will follow the greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of the world’s most valuable startups, and the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible. Jared Leto is portraying the role of Adam Neumann, the co-founder of WeWork. While, Anne Hathaway is set for the role of Adam’s wife, Rebekah Neumann.

Based on the Wondery podcast of the same name, the limited series is written and created by Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello as part of Eisenberg’s overall deal with Apple TV+. Leto and Hathaway are also serving as executive producers.

WeCrashed is a production by Apple Studios. It will be directed and executive produced by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra. Executive producers Crevollo, Eisenberg, Charlie Gogolak, Natalie Sandy,  Emma Ludbrook, and Wondery.
