Bones & All Photo Shows First Look at Timothée Chalamet & Taylor Russell

The first official Bones & All photo from Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming film adaptation of Camille DeAngelis’ romantic horror novel has finally arrived online as production continues in Cincinnati, Ohio. The photo, which you can check out below, provides us our first look at Escape Room star Taylor Russell as Maren and Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet as Lee, who is seen sporting red-orange colored hair. The project marks the Call Me By Your Name filmmaker’s first U.S. set movie.

Chalamet is currently attached to a number of high-profile projects and will next be seen in this year’s long-awaited premieres of The French Dispatch, Dune, and Don’t Look Up. Meanwhile, Russell is set to reprise her role as Zoey Davis in Sony’s horror sequel Escape Room: Tournament of Champions.

Based on Camille DeAngelis’ 2015 novel, Bones & All is being described as a coming-of-age romantic horror story that centers around a young woman named Maren Yearly as she goes on a cross-country trip in search of her father, whom she had never met before. She hopes that by finding her father she will finally have answers to why she has the urge to kill and eat the people she loves.

The film adaptation will see Russell’s Maren meeting Chalamet’s Lee, described as an intense and disenfranchised drifter, as they join together for a thousand-mile odyssey that takes them through the back roads, hidden passages, and trap doors of Ronald Reagan’s America. But despite their best efforts, all roads lead back to their terrifying pasts and to a final stand that will determine whether their love can survive their otherness.

Joining Russell and Chalamet are Mark Rylance, Michael Stulhbarg, Chloe Sevigny, Francesca Scorsese, Jessica Harper,  André Holland, and Halloween director David Gordon Green. The film adaptation marks the second collaboration between Chalamet and Guadagnino, who are reuniting after four years since 2017’s acclaimed coming-of-age drama Call Me By Your Name which launched the 25-year-old actor into stardom.
