My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission Artwork Shows New Villain

The My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission movie will debut a new villain named Flect Turn once it releases in theaters on August 6 in Japan.

As the film’s official website unveiled, Kazuya Nakai (One Piece, Gintama) will play the villainous as Flect Turn. He’s the leader of an organization called “HUMANIZE” that threatens the world. The character is designed by series creator Kohei Horikoshi. The film will also feature a new character named Rody Soul, who has a secret distrust of heroes. However, Soul teams up with Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki to stop HUMANIZE from destroying all Quirk holders.

World Heroes’ Mission is the third film spawned from the popular anime series. The first movie, titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, released back in 2018, grossing $5.7 million at the US box office. My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising released in Japan in 2019 and North America in 2020. It earned approximately $2.5 million on opening day.

My Hero Academia is created by Kohei Horikoshi and began being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2014. The first season of the anime launched in 2016 and has since been adapted in other media such as video games and films. Both the anime and manga are still ongoing.

My Hero Academia The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission will be in theaters in Japan on August 6, 2021. A North American date has yet to be determined.
