The Flash movie features the return of Ezra Miller as he reprises his role as the DCEU’s Scarlet Speedster/ Barry Allen, who he first portrayed in Batman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeJustice League, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. He had also made a surprise appearance in 2019 during The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, where he got to meet Arrowverse star Grant Gustin’s version of the hero.

Joining Miller are Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, and on-the-rise star Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) signing on to star as Supergirl, becoming only the second actress to ever portray the character on the big screen. It has been confirmed that Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will be reprising their respective versions of Bruce Wayne/Batman for the film. Golden Globe nominee Ron Livingston has also been cast to replace Billy Crudup as Henry Allen

Further details about its plot are still being kept under wraps but it is said to based off Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert’s Flashpoint comic. This isn’t actually the first time that the famous comic storyline was adapted onto the screen as it was first covered in the 2013 animated film Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox as well as in the third season of The CW’s eponymous series. Some fans are also speculating that WB and DC Films will be utilizing the story to fix any continuity issues within the overall DCEU franchise.

The Ezra Miller-led Flash movie will be directed by IT‘s Andy Muschietti from the latest screenplay written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). It will be executive produced by Marianne Jenkins with Michael Disco and Barbara Muschietti set as producers.
