That Damn Michael Che teaser previews new HBO Max comedy series

HBO Max has released the first teaser for Saturday Night Live star Michael Che’s upcoming comedy series titled That Damn Michael Che, featuring the comedian as he shares his unique perspective on controversial topics. The video gives us a preview of the sketches that will be featured in the new series, as well as its guest-stars including SNL‘s Cecily Strong and Colin Quinn. That Damn Michael Che is a groundbreaking new original comedy series using sketches and vignettes to illustrate what it feels like to experience various everyday situations, including racial profiling, unemployment, falling in love and more… from Michael’s perspective.

Fellow SNL cast members Cecily Strong, Heidi Gardner, Colin Quinn, Ellen Cleghorne and Colin Jost will lend their talents along with guest stars Omari Hardwick, Geoffrey Owens, Godfrey, Billy Porter and Method Man.

That Damn Michael Che is executive produced by Che, Lorne Michaels, Erin Doyle, and Oz Rodriguez. It is co-production between Universal Television, Broadway Video and Irony Point.

Che gained recognition when he became the first African-American co-anchor for Saturday Night Live‘s long-running segment Weekend Update in 2014. Before headlining his own comedy series, he first starred in two stand-up specials including The Half Hour and Michael Che Matters.
