Disney+ Star Wars Cassian Andor Series May Film In June 2020

Disney+ and Lucasfilm’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series may soon be ready to go into production. According to Discussing Film, the Diego Luna led Cassian Andor series will begin filming in June 2020. The report also notes that the show will shoot somewhere in Europe.

Tony Gilroy, who worked on the reshoots for Rogue One, reportedly rewrote the pilot episode for the series. Gilroy will also direct several episodes. Stephen Schaffer (The Americans) will serve as the series’ showrunner.

The Cassian Andor series will follow Luna’s character prior to his appearance in Rogue One. It has been described as a “spy thriller” and it may feature flashbacks to Cassian’s childhood. Discussing Film notes that there may be casting calls for Cassian as a child, and for Cassian’s sister. Additionally, Rogue One standout Alan Tudyk will return to reprise his role as K-2SO.

Disney hasn’t made any announcement regarding the state of the Cassian Andor series. So, this report isn’t currently confirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm.
