Friends Heading to Theaters for 25th Anniversary Screenings

In celebration of the upcoming 25th anniversary of Friends, Warner Bros. Television in partnership with Fathom Events have announced that fans will now have an opportunity to watch Friends on the big screen with special screenings of the iconic sitcom’s 12 most memorable episodes. Four episodes will be screening for three non-consecutive nights on September 23, 28, and October 2 In more than 1000 theaters across the country.

“The cultural impact that Friends continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding, a true testament to the genius of Marta Kauffman, David Crane, Kevin Bright, and the incredibly talented cast,” Warner Bros. Television Group President & Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Gregorian said in statement (via EW)

Gregorian added, “It is so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together. We could not be more excited to deliver these digitally remastered episodes to theaters — for the first time ever! — so that together, in a shared experience, our loyal fans can enjoy some of their favorite Friends scenes in a new way.”

The 12 episodes that will be featured have been newly remastered in 4K from the original 35mm camera negative. Each screening will be including exclusive interviews and never-before-seen content. The title of the episodes that are set to be show are as follows:

Night 1:

The Pilot – the first episode of season one which aired on September 22, 1994.

The One With The Black Out – the seventh episode of season one which aired on November 3, 1994.

The One With The Birth – the twenty-third episode of season one which aired on May 11, 1995.

The One Where Ross Finds Out – the seventh episode of season two which aired on November 9, 1995.

Night 2:

The One With The Prom Video – the fourteenth episode of season two which aired on February 1, 1996.

The One Where No One’s Ready – the second episode of season three which aired on September 26, 1996.

The One With The Morning After – the sixteenth episode of season three which aired on February 20, 1997.

The One With The Embryos – the twelfth episode of season four which aired on January 15, 1998.

Night 3:

The One With Chandler In  A Box – the eighth episode of season four which aired on November 20, 1997.

The One With Ross’s Wedding – Part 2 – the twenty-fourth episode of season four which aired on May 7, 1998.

The One Where Everyone Finds Out – the fourteenth episode of season five which aired on February 11, 1999.

The One Where Ross Got High – the ninth episode of season six which aired on November 25, 1999.

Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, Friends had lasted over ten seasons from 1994-2004. The sitcom starred Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, portraying the roles of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey and Ross, respectively.

Tickets for Friends 25th: The One With The Anniversary event will be available on Fathom Events starting this Friday, August 16.
