Good Omens Season 1 Episode 1 Recap

Good Omens Season 1 Recap

Amazon’s Good Omens, an adaptation of the Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman novel, chronicled the efforts of an angel, a demon, a witch, a witch hunter, and an Anti-Christ to stop the end of the world, despite heaven and hell’s mutual eagerness for war. To conclude our Good Omens recaps, we are reviewing the roles the heroes played to stop the apocalypse.

Aziraphale and Crowley

Friends since Genesis, Aziraphale, an angel, and Crowley, a demon, became too accustomed to life on Earth. They defied heaven and hell, respectively, as they plotted to raise the Anti-Christ to be neutral. Switches at birth meant they were raising the wrong child.

After Armageddon came and went, Aziraphale and Crowley stood trial. They switched their faces and survived each sides’ condemnations. Because they withstood their punishments, heaven and hell feared them. They were left alone to their lives on Earth, together.

Adam and His Friends

Good Omens Season 1 Recap

Adam had a mundane childhood with a group of close friends. While he did succumb to his Anti-Christ tendencies temporarily, his friends helped him see the damage he was doing. Fearing the loss of his friends, Adam snapped back to himself, and they rode their bikes to stop the apocalypse. He rejected Satan as his father and ended the end of the world.

Anathema and Nelson

Good Omens Season 1 Recap

Agnes Nutter was a witch who had made accurate predictions centuries ago before a witch hunter killed her. Her descendant, Anathema, studied her predictions and went to England to stop the apocalypse. Nelson stumbled into witch hunting, not knowing that his ancestor had been the witch hunter who executed Agnes. Anathema and Nelson fell for each other and prevented the Four Horsemen’s plans for a catastrophic nuclear world war.
