Check out the Wellington Paranormal trailer below!

The new mockumentary series follows officers Minogue and O’Leary (Mike Minogue and Karen O’Leary, reprising their parts from the movie) as a pair of paranormal cops focused not just on vampires this time. New Zealand’s capital is a hotbed of supernatural activity, so Officers Minogue and O’Leary take to the streets to investigate all manner of paranormal phenomena including ghosts, demonic possession and werewolves. Maaka Pohatu also stars as Sgt. Ruawai Maaka, with Clement and Waititi expected to reprise their roles as Vladislav and Viago, respectively.

Wellington Paranormal will debut on TVNZ (Television New Zealand) on July 11 and is currently without a television home in the US.

In addition to this New Zealand series, What We Do in the Shadows is also coming to American small screens with a TV adaptation at FX. The new series, which will be written and executive-produced by Waititi and Clement, will follow three vampires who have been roommates for hundreds of years living in New York City, and will star Matt Berry (The IT Crowd), Kayvan Novak (Early Man), Natasia Demetriou (Year Friends) and Harvey Guillen (The Magicians). The 10-episode first season is set to debut sometime in spring of 2019.

What We Do in the Shadows followed a group of vampires (Waititi, Clement, Jonathan Brugh, Ben Fransham) who live together in modern-day Wellington, New Zealand as they go through the mundane tasks of everyday life and of rooming with other people, as well as bringing in a vampire (Cori Gonzalez-Macuer) just turned by the group. The film earned rave reviews from critics upon release and quickly became an international cult classic, propelling Waititi and Clement even further into the spotlight as actors, writers and directors. Since its release, the film has had multiple continuations in development, including a film sequel focused on the group of werewolves seen in the film led by Anton (Rhys Darby, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle).
