In less than a month, Greendale Community College’s new semester begins as NBC’s “Community” returns for a fifth season on January 2, 2014. You can check out an extended trailer for the new episodes in the player below.
Although the new episodes will not feature Chevy Chase, they will mark the return of series creator and showrunner Dan Harmon, who brings the series’ fan-driven mantra of “Six seasons and a movie” even closer to becoming a reality. Sadly, series regular Donald Glover will also be departing the cult hit and is scheduled only to appear in five episodes during the fifth season (a fact humorously nodded at in the new trailer).
The series also stars Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong and Jim Rash with fifth season guest stars set to include David Cross, Walton Goggins, Nathan Fillion, Vince Gilligan, Brie Larson and many more!
