David Denman Joins Beverly Hills Cop

Casting continues for Shawn Ryan and Eddie Murphy’s “Beverly Hills Cop” CBS television series as The Hollywood Reporter brings word that David Denman has joined the cast.

Denman, best known for his role as Roy in the early seasons of “The Office,” will play a detective named Brad Fullmer, said to serve a narrative role similar to that of Judge Reinhold in the film series. He joins a cast that currently includes Brandon T. Jackson and Kevin Pollak.

The hour-long series, which Ryan will co-write and executive produce, will be a continuation of the three movies that ran from 1984 to 1994, and Eddie Murphy will at least appear in the pilot, reprising his role as the wisecracking detective Axel Foley, who Jackson’s character Aaron is trying to get out from under his shadow as he takes on the criminal element of Beverly Hills.
