Under the Dome Gets Air Date Start, Dexter Season 8 Premiering Three Months Early

CBS revealed this weekend that “Under the Dome,” the series based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, will debut on June 24th at 10/9c.

Niels Arden Oplev, the director of the original The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, will helm the first episode. Brian K. Vaughan (“LOST”) adapted the book for the screen.

The story tells of a small town in Maine which is cut off from the rest of the world by an invisible dome. With air, food and patience dwindling, societal norms within this town begin to break down.

Meanwhile, over at Camp “Dexter,” season 8 is slated to begin three months early and will kick off on June 30th.

At the TCA Conference, the Showtime president confirmed rumors that season 8 “is the likely endpoint,” but he’s open to the possibility that those plans could change.
