Melissa Joan Hart & Sean Astin to Star in Netflix’s No Good Nick

Netflix has announced that they are giving a 20-episode series order for their upcoming multi-camera family sitcom No Good Nick, starring Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress Melissa Joan Hart and Stranger Things star Sean Astin.

“Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin are beloved by millions of fans around the world, and we are delighted to bring them together as parents for the very first time,” said Melissa Cobb, VP Kids and Family at Netflix. “We hope to entertain kids and families with heart, mystery and a lot of fun when No Good Nick comes to Netflix.”

No Good Nick follows the story of Liz (Hart) and Ed (Astin), a hyper-competitive career mom and lovable but dorky “fun dad,” respectively. In the series, they’ve adopted a 13-year-old girl named Nicole a.k.a Nick into their family not knowing the she is actually a street-smart con artist with a secret agenda. In addition to Hart and Astin, the comedy series also stars Siena Agudong as the titular mischievous character along with Kalama Epstein and Lauren Lindsey Donzis.

The sitcom is created and executive produced by David H. Steinberg and Keetgi Kogan. No Good Nick is directed by Andy Fickman and its production has just recently started with Netflix producing the show.

Hart is best known for role in the original Sabrina the Teenage Witch comedy series as the titular iconic character. Currently, Netflix has already made an adaptation of the show titled The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina which will be a more darker and supernatural series much different from Hart’s version. The new series will premiere on October 26, 2018.

Astin is best known for his roles in iconic films such as: the 1985 adventure film,The Goonies which was a story created by Steven Spielberg; and in the fantasy trilogy, The Lord of the Rings starring alongside Elijah Wood, Sir Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen. He recently appeared in the second season of Netflix’s Stranger Things as Bob Newby.
