Published in April 2018, the memoir tells the story of James Comey and his untold experiences through his two-decades career in the federal government, including four years as the director of the FBI from 2013-17, receiving his appointment from Barack Obama. Comey took the title from claims that he was told by Donald Trump in a private meeting to keep a personal loyalty to Trump during the investigation into Michael Flynn, while Comey chose to hold himself to a “higher loyalty” to justice and the truth.

The miniseries will be penned by Billy Ray, known for having written the screenplay or Captain Phillips, while helping co-write the screenplays for State of PlayThe Hunger Games and the upcoming action horror film Overlord, set for a Nov. 9 release, and second Terminator reboot, set for a Nov. 15, 2019 release.
